Info & Price
Portugal 2026 - board transport
I'm driving a van from Czech Republic to the Algarve for OWAT (Sep 23-30 - I'm not joining the tour, but I'll be there with the boards in time for the start) and OWAR (Oct 2-5). Around Oct 7 I point the van back home.
As I mentioned to most of you in person, I planned (and budgeted for) Scotland and Denmark as my main trips this year, and at the beginning of the year I was ready to skip Portugal. But I've seen a lot of demand for board transport across the events, and I also seem to be qualifying for the finals - so I decided to try to squeeze in Portugal too. Hence the form.
The trip is confirmed - I'm driving. Thank you to everyone who sent in a request. More boards are still welcome: the form stays open, and every extra board makes the trip easier on the budget.
The numbers: 20 boards was roughly my breaking point for driving vs flying, 25 boards cover the majority of the fuel cost, and 30 boards would be ideal and cover the travel costs. The bar below shows where we are.
- 100% going
- still deciding
- probably not
The progress bar shows live data based on form submissions. Its colors show how sure people are - the solid green part is boards from people who are 100% going.
Price
45 € one-way per board + bag. Round trip is simply 2 × 45 €.
To make this trip happen at all, the boards need to cover most of its cost - that's what the price is based on. If there's enough demand, I'll lower the price.
Confirmations & payment
Please submit the form as soon as you can - expect confirmations around Aug 25.
Payment happens within the first week after confirmations - online, in advance, via Revolut, PayPal, or bank transfer.
How to pack
I strongly prefer Onewheels without a box - bare boards puzzle together tightly, and that's what makes room for everyone's gear:
Each board can be accompanied by one closed bag (optional) with your riding gear - helmet, pads, charger, clothing.
- Please keep your battery at 50% or less.
- If possible, disconnect the battery.
- Deflate the tire for better stacking - a tire pump will be available when your board is delivered.
- Ideally mark your board with paper tape, a sharpie, and your name.
Borders
I'll be crossing several borders on the way there and back. Nothing in the bag that could cause trouble, please. :) Geotrackers (AirTag and friends) are welcome, though.
